1. L’artiste doit être canadien;
2. Règle générale, l’artiste doit avoir sorti un album francophone dans les 18 derniers mois;

M for Montreal at North by Northeast 2013!

Tue, 06/04/2013

Following a strong presence at The Great Escape a couple weeks ago where M for Montreal took home the YMCA award for Best Regional/Smaller Festival, the M team is road tripping – literally – to Toronto next week to attend North by Northeast, June 10-16

M is cooking two shows at NXNE! First off, M for Montreal presents Mauves, Webster, UN, Julian Lynch, Brazos, The Luyas and Psyche Tongues Friday June 14 at Sneaky Dee’s. The show will open with a free Poutine Party – provided by Sneaky Dee’s – and a surprise artist starting at 7pm!

But that’s not all. A couple days before the show, we will announce a special guest – presented by Urban Outfitters – who will hit the stage at 2am and make sure the party is on! We promise it’s going to be M for Magical!

And because sleep is overrated, the next day M for Montreal and Panache Booking present the third edition of Bruise Cruise, a perfect mix of boat cruise and music on the Lake Ontario Saturday June 15 and featuring Fat Tony, We Are Wolves, Odonis Odonis and Mikal Cronin.  Come spend your afternoon with us starting at 12:30pm (boarding time) on this now traditional cruise which previously featured artists like Ty Segall and Mac DeMarco.

Our CMW showcase in pictures!

Wed, 03/27/2013

Last Friday during Canadian Music Week in Toronto, M for Montreal was the host of an awesome showcase at Sneaky Dee's! After a couple days of persistent networking, panels and shows, "M" presented on March 22 a sold out showcase filled with exciting moments in a venue that was perfectly suited for the line up.

With the free M-poutine (big thanks to Sneaky Dee's!), Misteur Valaire playing in front of 28 Japanese delegates amongst the spectators, great sets by Peter Peter, Ponctuation, We Are Wolves and Grounders, Mac DeMarco playing for overexcited crowd surfing fans and Brews Willis closing the night around 3:00am, we can say the showcase was more than a success!

UPDATE: More photos can be found here. Thanks to LivemusicTO and their photographer Winter Stevens!
