CASE STUDIES: FROM SPECTACLE TO TOTAL EXPERIENCE
9.15 a.m. to 10.15 a.m.
For some artists, the performing arts is a vast creative laboratory: the concert must stimulate all the spectators’ senses, involve them in the performance, integrate other art forms, and of course, use the latest technologies. All these components are put forward in order to increase the musical experience. Come and listen to stage exploration specialists present projects that are off the beaten track.

PANEL: PUSHING THE LIMITS OF THE SPECTACLE WITH CREATION, TECHNOLOGY AND EXPERIENCE
10.15 a.m. to 10.45 a.m.
In recent years, several performing arts venues in Quebec have acquired equipment that offers new opportunities for artists. But are these technological tools being used to their full potential, while the performance of “traditional” music seems more often than not to be the path taken by Quebec artists from the musical field. The supporters of the revisited concert are convinced that an improvement in the spectator’s experience is beneficial to all: audience and artists. Should the integration of visual experiences, inviting the audience to participate in the performance, adding elements from other artistic fields and using new technologies be more widespread? Are there any musical styles that lend themselves more than others? Is a show that would take advantage of different technological innovations more limited when it comes to touring? How can we get local artists to explore new possibilities?
A panel of experts, including Brigitte Poupart and Steve Marcoux, discussed the case studies with the participants.
SHOWCASE: MUSIC SHOWS WITH ADDED VALUES
11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The stage and performing arts venues are now places of creation in their own right on the fringes of musicians’ performances. We are finishing up, well beyond the lighting and smoke games, to solicit the spectators’ senses in order to make them live the most complete experience possible. Discover how musical performances benefit more than ever from creative technologies to increase the value offered to audiences.
