David Torreblanca, born in Chile, grew up in Neuchâtel (Switzerland) from the
age of 12 and studied at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne. He was banquets
coordinator at Switzerland’s national exhibition “Expo 02”, then became Food &
Beverages coordinator at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2004. In 2006 he organized an evening at the Montreux Jazz Café, and he took over co-
programming for that venue the next year.
Since 2013 he is responsible for programming at the Montreux Jazz Lab
(capacity 2000), a venue that showcases the scintillating music of the « now »
(hip-hop, rock, electronic and more).
The 51st edition of the Festival, in 2017, saw the creation of a new venue,
Lisztomania (capacity 500), dedicated to discoveries and independent musical
forms, as well as the Out of the Box concept – a series of concerts in emblematic
sites in the region, thought as tailor-made showcases for a limited selection of
David Torreblanca is also Chief Operations Officer (F&B, general
accommodations, security, events), and a member of the executive committee of
the Montreux Jazz Festival.
